Director, Revenue Analysis

Rick Fisher is the Director of Revenue Analysis at Xcel Energy. Mr. Fisher has over 25 years of experience working with and in the utility industry, including leadership of capital asset accounting functions, forecasting, regulatory cost recovery, and investor relations. 

Mr. Fisher began his professional career in the Capital Recovery division of Southern California Edison, where he served in various capacities. He was responsible for managing functions involving depreciation and nuclear decommissioning accounting and studies, including the development of complex forecasting models for plant additions, rate base, working cash, and depreciation. Mr. Fisher has testified as an expert witness for accounting, rate base and depreciation in various rate filings with the California Public Utilities Commission and the FERC.  

As a Product Director at PowerPlan, Mr. Fisher was responsible for overseeing the direction of new products and the continued enhancement and evolution of PowerPlan’s software solutions in supporting Financial Planning & Analysis processes for the North American energy industry. This effort included asset management, project portfolio optimization, utility budgeting and forecasting, rate case management, and regulatory reporting. 

Mr. Fisher has presented at EEI, AGA, SDP, and various industry conferences on industry trends, asset management, working capital, early generation plant retirements and stranded cost recovery, artificial intelligence and various leadership topics. Mr. Fisher holds a B.S. in Finance, Real Estate, and Law from California Polytechnic University, Pomona and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. Mr. Fisher is Chair of the SDP Certification and Testing Committee and has served as SDP President.
