Mr. Kennedy has been in the pipeline, electric, and gas utility business for over 40 years. As Senior Vice President, Concentric Advisors ULC, Larry is responsible for depreciation studies for gas and electric utilities including generation facilities, high voltage transmission lines, large diameter transmission pipelines, and railway systems throughout North America. He is active in developing capital cost recovery policies that ensure the alignment of depreciation policies with requirements resulting from decarbonization legislation and stranded cost issues in several North American jurisdictions. Previously, Mr. Kennedy was with Gannett Fleming Canada ULC for over 17 years where he was responsible for preparing depreciation studies for several regulated Canadian utilities. He was also employed by Interprovincial Pipelines Limited (now Enbridge Pipelines) for 15 years in plant accounting and regulatory positions and with Nova Gas Transmission Pipelines (now TC Energy) for 3 years as a Depreciation Specialist.
Mr. Kennedy has provided expert witness testimony related to depreciation, plant accounting, and stranded cost issues before several North American State and Provincial regulatory bodies. In addition, he has provided evidence in several proceedings before the Canada Energy Regulator, the National Energy Board of Canada, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Larry has completed numerous seminars and courses offered by Depreciation Programs, Inc., and the SDP. He has presented depreciation related topics to the SDP and several Canadian associations. Mr. Kennedy is a past SDP President.
